This policy is part of our Terms of Service. By using our Services to make purchases, you agree to accept our Terms of Service and this policy. 

Using the Mendy Platform

Mendy brings together Clients and Sewists to create sustainable wardrobes and at fair prices. Mendy provides its Platform for users to enter into transactions, but as a Client it is important that you understand what services we provide and what services Sewists provide. 

When you purchase services through our Platform (referred to as "Projects"), those services are provided by a Sewist and not by Mendy. We provide guidelines that all Sewists on the Platform agree to follow, but we cannot endorse or guarantee any services provided by any individual Sewist. Each Sewist sets their own policies, including with respect to refunds. If you believe that a Sewist is not abiding by their stated policies, or Mendy’s policies, please contact us at hello@getmendy.com.

Communicating and Interacting with Sewists

Our Platform allows you to communicate with Sewists regarding your Project and your items that will be sent to the Sewist as part of that Project. In order to enable Sewists to complete your Project, you agree to:

  • Only request services for items that you own.

  • Accurately represent your Item in your Project specifications. Providing an item that is different from what you described to your Sewist can result in delays and additional charges, or result in your Sewist being unable to complete your project.

  • Be clear in your Project specifications. Changes to your Project specifications may result in delays as well as additional costs and charges.

  • Review your Sewist’s policies.

  • Respond promptly to messages and requests from your Sewist. 

In addition, you agree that you will not:

  • Encourage Sewists to move projects or services off of the Platform to avoid our policies and/or fees.

  • Use the Platform or any of its messaging features to send Clients unsolicited advertising or promotions, requests for donations, or spam.

Always use caution when exchanging any personal information which is not necessary for the completion of your Project.

Payments

You agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes on your Project. By providing your payment information to our third party payment processor, Square, you represent and warrant that you are legally authorized to provide such information and that you are legally authorized to initiate payments using such information. Payment processing services are subject to Square’s terms and conditions. 

Any refunds are at the discretion of the Sewist completing your project. To assist our Sewists and Clients with transactions, we also provide a Refund Policy.

We strive for accurate pricing of Projects. However, occasional errors or mistakes may cause inaccurate prices to appear. Prior to the time that you have mailed your item, we have the right to void any Projects that display an inaccurate price.
