Frequently asked questions

  • How do remote alterations work?

If the pandemic taught us anything, it’s that we can accomplish more remotely than we ever thought! A lot of the services we offer don’t require detailed measurements, but some do. Based on the service you request, we’ll walk you through the process of making sure we make adjustments you’re happy with.

  • What does it cost?

Every service is priced based on paying sewists fairly for their time, skill, and expertise (and for any required materials). You’ll see upfront pricing when you purchase a service, and that’s the price you’ll pay.

  • Do you guarantee the work?

Our goal is always to give your garments a longer, happier life. If something isn’t right or doesn’t live up to your expectations, just reply to your order confirmation and we’ll take care of you.

  • How long will this take?

Since projects are sent from and to you by mail, you should expect projects to take a minimum of a week. Drop your project in the mail as soon as you can, and your sewist will provide an expected completion date when they receive your package. Keep in mind that more complex or custom work takes longer, but it’s worth it. #slowfashion

  • Who does the work?

Projects are completed by experienced sewists who’ve been sewing for themselves and others for years. Some work in alteration shops or design studios while others are experienced home-based seamstresses and tailors. Know someone who might want to join us? Send them our way!

  • Can you do...?

We’re adding services all the time based on what we hear from our clients. If you don’t see the service you need, reach out to us and tell us about it.
